Catching up!

The last years have flown by. The unexpected COVID-19 pandemic brought so many changes. My child entered FCPS in a virtual setting, and as so many families, mine adapted to social connection via Zoom and creative changes to work remotely. I continued to serve the community in new capabilities and engaged in a learning journey.

I was appointed by Supervisor Dalia Palchik to the Tysons Transportation District Advisory Board which allowed me to continue my engagement with local transportation issues.

Serving the community as a Court Officer in Arlington and the City of Falls Church Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts is still my main focus and I’m closer to reaching a decade of service! The highlight of this intense work is mentoring vulnerable youth in this community with the help of some truly remarkable volunteers.

Regarding learning, I’m proud to share that I completed one of the most transformational experiences, after a year of visiting every corner of the Commonwealth with the Sorensen Institute Political Leaders Program, (PLP). Below is a selection of photos collected during this experience.

The Sorensen PLP was eye-opening and life changing. Shown above: Williamsburg and One Baptist Church’s historical first church with the original restored bell that has seen black history in America from the inside. Roanoke, and the Martinsville NASCAR Speedway.
